What is ABA, and what does it look like at GEMS?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most evidence-supported approach for children with autism and developmental delays. Here is what it means in plain language.

aba-science-of-learning_edited_edited.png

ABA is the science of learning

ABA uses what we know about how people learn to help children build communication, learning, and daily-living skills, and to reduce behaviors that get in the way. It is one of the most widely researched approaches for supporting children with autism and developmental differences.

child-centered-approach_edited_edited_edited_edited.png

It starts with what your child loves

We find out what motivates your child (a favorite toy, a song, a game) and build teaching moments around it, so learning feels rewarding and meaningful. We never use punishment or aversive techniques.

Not sure where to start? That's okay.

Our first conversation is simply a chance to talk about your child and whether GEMS feels like the right fit.
